East Gaston High School Prom 2025: Important Information for Juniors and Seniors

East Gaston High School is excited to announce details regarding the upcoming Junior-Senior Prom on Friday, April 4th, 2025. The event will be held at CaroMont Health Park from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM. This year’s prom promises to be a memorable night, and to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone, we’ve outlined all the crucial information you need to know.

Before purchasing your tickets, please be aware that all required paperwork must be completed and submitted. This includes:

  • East Gaston Prom Permission Slip Acknowledgment: This must be signed electronically via HomeTown Ticketing. You can find the link below for easy access.
  • Guest Form and Copy of Guest ID: If you plan to bring a guest from outside of East Gaston High School, a Guest Form is mandatory. Additionally, a copy of your guest’s photo ID must be submitted along with the form.
  • Early Release Form: If you require early release on Prom day, please ensure you submit an Early Release Form. Note the specific attendance requirements for early release to be considered present for the full day (detailed further below).

All necessary forms are available and should be returned to the front office at East Gaston High School. Remember to keep your ticket QR code accessible as it will be required for entry at the door.

Key Information from the Student Handbook Regarding Prom Eligibility and Rules:

  • Junior or Senior Status: Only students officially classified as juniors or seniors are eligible to purchase prom tickets during the designated sales period in February/March.
  • Sophomore and Freshman Attendance: Sophomores may attend Prom only as invited guests of a junior or senior. Freshmen, including repeat 9th-grade students, are not permitted to attend Prom.
  • Outside Guests: Guests from outside East Gaston High School are welcome, but they must be in good standing within their school or community. A “Request to Attend Form” (Guest Application) must be submitted for all outside guests. East Gaston High School reserves the right to deny attendance to any guest deemed not in good standing.   • Ticket Policy: Once purchased, prom tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE. Please make your purchase decisions carefully.
  • Disciplinary Considerations: Multiple disciplinary referrals may result in a student being denied the privilege of attending Prom. Maintain good conduct to ensure your eligibility.
  • Prom Information Updates: Stay informed! All Prom updates and announcements will be regularly posted on the East Gaston High School website and announced during afternoon announcements leading up to the event.
  • Attendance on Prom Day: Students must be in attendance at school on Friday, April 4th, 2025 to be granted admission to Prom that evening.
  • Attendance Threshold: Students should be aware of the attendance policy regarding unexcused absences. Students exceeding 10 unexcused absences in either semester may be required to submit an appeal form to be considered eligible to attend Prom.

Prom 2025: Expected Behavior and Essential Guidelines

  • April 4th Attendance and Early Dismissal: While April 4th, 2025, is a scheduled full school day, early dismissal is possible under specific conditions. To be counted present for the full day with early dismissal, students must be present at school by 8:30 AM and remain until at least 11:45 AM, adhering to attendance policies. Early Dismissal Forms are available in the front office.
  • Zero Tolerance for Alcohol and Drugs: The possession or consumption of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited. Any student found under the influence will be denied entry. Violators will face suspension and/or expulsion from school and are subject to state laws concerning alcohol and narcotics.
  • Outside Beverages Prohibited: Students are not permitted to bring any drinks from outside vendors into CaroMont Health Park.
  • Security Screening: All Prom attendees will undergo security screening upon arrival at CaroMont Health Park to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
  • Conduct and Decorum: All students are expected to conduct themselves with decorum and good manners throughout the evening, representing East Gaston High School positively.
  • Consequences for Infringements: Any violation of these guidelines will result in immediate expulsion from Prom. Offenders will be released into the custody of their parents or guardians.
  • No Re-entry Policy: Students will NOT be permitted to leave Prom and re-enter for any reason. Please plan accordingly.
  • Guest Age Limit and ID Requirement: If a student is bringing a guest, the Outside Guest Form must be completed before purchasing a ticket. The maximum age for outside guests is 20 years old. A copy of the guest’s driver’s license or government-issued photo ID is required before a ticket can be purchased for the guest.
  • Formal Attire: The Junior-Senior Prom is a formal event, and appropriate formal attire is mandatory. JEANS ARE NOT PERMITTED.
